Siemens Rail Automation (formerly Signals)
Still based in Chippenham, Westinghouse Signals became Westinghouse Rail Systems in around 2002 – recognising that the Company does a lot more than just railway signalling – and was renamed Invensys Rail in 2009. In 2013 the company was acquired by Siemens Rail Automation.
Knorr Bremse UK (formerly Brakes)
Sold in 2000 by Invensys, the Westinghouse Brakes business is thriving under the ownership of Munich-based Knorr Bremse. Now based in a purpose-built new factory in Melksham, Brakes is still involved in the manufacture and servicing of railway braking systems and Platform Screen Doors.
Schneider Electric (formerly Systems)
Westinghouse Systems became of Schneider Electric, and there is still a significant office on the Chippenham site.
Westcode (formerly Semiconductors)
Now owned by IXYS, Westcode is the former Semiconductors business, concentrating on high power semiconductor technology. The Company is still based on the Chippenham site.
DDR Ltd (formerly Westinghouse Davenset Rectifiers)
Based in Rugby, Deakin Davenset Rectifiers took on many of the interests of Partridge Wilson and Westinghouse Davenset Rectifiers. The Company was founded in 1979.
