Polunnio produces a wide range of print and online material focused on railway technology and industrial history.
The majority of our work involves creating magazines, annual reports and collateral to support major events for our clients. However, we have also created books and textbooks, annual ‘proceedings’ of a professional engineering institution, and a range of graphics files needed for branding of everything from pull-up banners to water bottles. We have also produced PowerPoint masters for a number of conferences, carrying on the branding from the client’s other materials.

Polunnio is proud to have worked with the Institution of Railway Signal Engineering since 2014.
The major output throughout that time is IRSE News, the Institution’s magazine, published in full colour 11 times each year.
Typically 40 pages long and with significant technical content, IRSE News is an ideal project for our specialist skills.
To date we have produced over 130 issues, well over 5000 pages.
Miscellany is a magazine produced by the Derbyshire Archaeological Society.
With a wide range of historical topics covered, and complex referencing in each issue, each article is packed with full-colour images, family trees and other illustrations.
Polunnio is pleased to work with the society’s expert editor to produce Miscellany.

Our company was originally set up to celebrate the history of the Westinghouse Brake & Signal orgnaisation in Chippenham in the UK – and its global reach.
We have published two full scale books on the subject, a second edition of the O S Nock centennial history of the company, and a smaller, photography-based, celebration of the company’s Chippenham factory.
Our largest project to date involved the creation of a new textbook for the IRSE, working with an international team of signalling and control experts to create ‘Metro Train Control Systems’.
With 500 pages, all printed in full colour, and hundreds of diagrams – either designed by us or amended for brand conformity – this has become one of the most global important texts on the subject.
Creation of the textbook needed a combination of our design and lay out skills, but also detailed knowledge of the subject, unique to Polunnio.

ASPECT is the bi-annual flagship conference of the IRSE. We have been privileged to support these events since 2017.
Typically we work with the conference organisers to create sponsorship and supporter brochures, calls for papers, magazine advertisements and the event programme. All are produced in both printed and ‘soft’ versions.
For a number of the conferences we have created event graphic boards, pull-up banners, presentation masters and sponsor reels and copy for branded giveaways.
These are just some examples of the wide variety of work we have carried out. We have produced everything from water-bottle graphics to presentation materials for cinema-sized conference screens, from single page flyers to 500-page textbooks. With our unique combination of publication skills and specific technical knowledge we are ideally suited to edit | design | lay out | publish projects in our particular fields of railway technology and industrial history.
